Scarlett has lived in the small seaside town of Harrington-On-Sea for most of her life and is desperate for adventure. However she is undecided about what to study at university or if she even wants to go. Since graduating from 6th Form College the summer before, Scarlett has been working in her friends cafe and painting in her spare time. Scarlett's mother is a renowend artist & her father works away from home a lot. She still lives in the family home.
Tim is Scarlett's best friend and she has had a crush on him since they were thirteen. She always just assumed that one day they would end up together, although they have both dated other people in high school. Scarlett didn't realise just how much things would change between them when Tim went to university and that Tim might only regard her as a childhood friend and nothing more.
She went to visit Tim in London with the intention of telling him her feelings, & is understandably upset whe she finds he has a girlfriend he hasn't even told her about!

Likes: Painting, drawing, reading, art galleries, coffee shops, late nights, watching movies, hiking.
Dislikes: eating meat (is vegetarian), people moping or not trying, being indoors for long periods of time, secrets, false people.

TIM THORNE
Age: 19
Birthday: November 27th
Height: 5'9" Build: Slim, average
Hair: Shortish, black Eyes: Blue/grey. Wears glasses.

Tim left Harrington-On-Sea to attend university in London in September the year before. He studies computer science. He lives in his mothers apartment (she's never there as she's usually off jetsetting) while at uni & often comes back to Harrington to visit his dad in the holidays. Tims parents had a bad divorce & don't really talk to each other.
Tim regards Scarlett as his best friend and sister and the person he confides in about his parents. He has no romantic feelings towards her, although others always thought he did.
Tim is very good with computers, but is also quite directionless and doesn't really know what he wants to do after uni. He mostly just wanted to be out of Harrington. Tim

ALICE (alison) HARVEY

Alice went to university to study English Literature as she enjoys writing. She is very dreamy, romantic and imaginative. She met Tim through a mutual friend. Although she is not struggling with her course, she is really struggling with the university atmosphere and is not sure she has made the right descion although she would be loath to admit that to her parents.
Alice is the middle child of her family with a younger (14) and older sister (21) Due to the dramas of her siblings Alice often feels like the overlooked 'good' child and is frustrated by her parents piling their expectations upon her younger and older sisters. Alice's parents are both busy career's people and believe in hard graft, they don't think Alice can make a career out of writing. Her younger sister is a bit of a trouble maker and her older sister is adored due to working hard in an office job which Alice thinks is a cop out as her sister had more artistic potential.
Alice grew up in London. Although her family is fairly well off she is working hard away from class so that she can support herself through college and afterwards as she doesn't want to depend on her parents for anything.
Alice is a thoughtful friend, kind and polite. She can be quite emotional and sensitive. Her parents say she's 'highly strung' but she is definatly less trouble than her sisters. She can also be shy and quiet in new company.
